About

Roldo Bartimole began reporting about Cleveland in 1965, when he signed on as a general assignment reporter at The Plain Dealer.  He left conventional journalism in 1968, after a year stint at the Wall Street Journal, to start Point of View, a small newsletter of Cleveland political content.

The newsletter ended publication after 32 years, in 2000.  He has written for various alternatives, including LakewoodBuzz.com, and occasionally for national publications.  Although Roldo doesn’t believe in seeking journalism awards, he’s proud to be a 1991 recipient of the Shafeek Nader Trust’s second annual Joe Calloway Award for Civic Courage.  He has been recognized by the Society of Professionals, and the Press Club.

Some of Roldo’s past work is available on the Cleveland State University Memory site which can be searched online by clicking here.
